As for it being real or not, this is an inspect screen, and the person taking the ss blanked their name out. The stats look real and its clearly a hunter because hunter set items are equipped. You can see the weapon model in both the inspect screen and the game (the dude on the mount). Looks legit to me! Congrats to this hunter on a weapon that couldn't be more clearly designed for the hunter class. Hunters need more legendary weapon drops IMO.

Alot of The Bindings of the Windseeker where looted before anyone knew what the reward is.... thats why some hunters and paladins have Thunderfury, not to mention a hunter can spam Thunderfury for DPS/Proc faster then any other class with rank 1 Wing Clip

I know that guy on the screenshot, and he a) is NOT a noob and b) yes, he has way too much time. Although I agree it's not truly a hunter weapon, in my personal opinion, he deserves that blade more than any of the paladins or warriors in his guild. I just hope that I'll never have to engage him in melee range with this killer (I'm a horde hunter on the same server).
The bindings dropped in MC for a much longer time than anyone knew what they were used for. All kinds of classes were taking them.

When he got the bindings, no one knew a lot about the quest and it's reward. I think BWL wasn't yet in the game at that time, so we didn't know if we'll ever get some elementium.
But he collected the huge amount of arcanite anyway and finally he got the sword after we reached the elementium-teacher goblin in BWL.
And: Since he got this blade, he went crazy!! Now he's beliving that he's a meele-hunter :/

Any Hunter who takes this weapon over a warrior, should be shot, hung, tared and feathered, beat, spit on, kicked in the groin, and last but certainly not least...have there eyeballs torn out and get skull F'ed. The only thing a hunter is doing by taking this away from a warrior is screwing his guild. I'm a hunter, and a freakin pwner at that, and not only would I not roll on the bindings I'd boot any other hunter in my guild for even asking to roll!!!

As far as this particular weapon goes it took in a LOT of work and assistance from his guild to acquire this thing. It is not an easy task. Any one who has the patience and support to see this through deserves this weapon be it mage, priest, warrior or yes, God forbid, even a hunter!
This item can be used by hunters, therefore hunters cannot and WILL not be excluded from getting a hold of the quest, jesus, hunters do melee from time to time, so what if the wars have no other skills than to hit and smash, be happy you can even equip a ranged weapon that you took from a hunter (using the majority of warrior's logic)

anyway... best use for this blade would be a paladin with his increased attackspeed. Even a rouge cant hit so fast with ist. This Blade is all about the proc not the damage. Therefore you should give it to someone who can hit the Bossmob very fast. This Blade almost useless for pvp and defensive warriors can have sword suitet better for them.

A hunter can outdo the number of attacks done by a paladin with wing clip. An attack every global cooldown + one every 1.9 seconds.

I have to say im a hunter on an EU server and only 60 arcane crystals short of completing this quest and finally summoning Thunderaan. Most likely I will be the second person to obtain this weapon on my server, ever. This is because it has only been in the past few weeks guilds have been sufficiently geared to finally conquer bwl. The first summon is likely to occur in the next few weeks for the Horde on our server. As a prominent member of a well known high-end Alliance guild on my server I had the bindings drop in an mc run knowning full well what the quest required and how much effort needed expending. As no warrior or paly was willing to take on the task it finally fell to me as the most willing to do this. For a survival spec'd hunter duel wielding 1h swords this sword (given its high proc rate) is one of the best. Hunters are probably one of the best classes to manage aggro (using pets and feign) for one thing. While I certainly would have passed on this quest if a warrior or paladin was willing to put in the time or effort for it the fact remains this sword, in the hands of a well trained hunter will be a beautiful thing to behold. To all those idiots that say a hunter could not and should never use this sword I would recommend that you look seriously into the other alternative 1h swords for the hunter class, exactly what this quest requires to complete and ask yourself if knowing all this you would begrudge a hunter for having it after all the effort they've expended.

Well what some of the people who have posted don't understand. The 2 bindings were dropping in MC before ANYONE knew what the rewards were. We had one drop from Garr on one of our first kills back in MAY. Nobody had any idea what the reward would be and we did a free roll by all the pallies/warriors/hunters/rogues. A rogue won.
So I'd imagine that any hunter that has completed this item quest line probably was in the same boat as we were in. Not enough info.
But I'd like to think that once people found out what the sword was, that you'd probably hand it over to your MT or a combat spec rogue.
Have you seen any of the videos of what a combat spec rogue can do with that thing in PVP? It's insane. Not to mention the fact that they will be proc'n on mobs that a MT is hitting... so it's still going to have the same effect overall.

There is a hunter on Daggerspine (EU) who has this wep :P think we got about 4 on server in total although he has it due to getting one part before the quest was implimented and it did say "Warrior, Paladin, Rogue, HUNTER" on the description after all :) clearly a hunter weapon.

This is pathetic seeing this on a hunter, lmao. FIRST of all, Hunters dont do Mellee dmg. I can hit just as hard with my staff, and im a lock. SECOND, the weapon was made for holding AGGRO. Why do u think the weapon is given to the MT in a guild....b/c its almost impossible to not hold aggro with this, its pretty much instant aggro till the boss dies. So a hunter doing the MT in BWL/MC? Why are you all saying this is an MT weapon? Tbh I dont see it as an amazing MT weapon. There are better weapons out there, sure the proc decreases the damage taken by shit loads but aslong as someone is hitting the boss with it the proc still affects. Ie a rogue or any other class.
Personally I think this weapon is for warriors and rogues and both should have equal chance at it (person with most DKP will get).
Note that the proc does not generate aggro (as far as I know)

this can be a hunter weapon, its procc is great for hunters, slowing down your enemy, and it will do a large amount of damage aswell, not to mention making the hunter take less dmg by lowering the enemies attack speed. and above all, lower nature res = more sting dmg

my server on alliance side has . 1 paladin. i rogue 1 warrior and a warrior it. and on horde alteast 2 rogues 1 warrior has it.. so i guess all who can equip swords will use it.. who dosnt want a legendary weapon ;)

the inspect window says "wird bei aufheben gebunden", or in english "binds on pickup", so aside from any discussions whether this blade is good for hunters, this specific one is faking it.

We've found one of the bindings twice and both times a rouge got it.
Well I'm a Hunter and when it first dropped I almoust rolled on it, too. Why? Because it is only useable by a Warrior/Rouge/Pal/Hunter and i had no f*ckin' idea.
After all i'm very glad that i didn't spend my DKP on this since i'm too lazy to collect all the stuff you need for it ( And i'm pretty shure, that none of you warriors complaining would collect them ) and after all there are many weapons that i find more suitable for a hunter - even Lok'Dehlar is a better Weapon imo and its much easier to get.

This hunter belongs to my guild, im pretty sure of that. I'd like just to state how he got it:
The first binding dropped way before BWL was released. We had no idea what the reward might be, we just heard rumours that you needed 100 arcanit bars for it. NO one wanted to put that much effort into an unknown reward. This hunter was the first one to use some DKP on it, and he got it.
Of course, in retrospect, this is no way a hunter's weapon, and no hunter bid on any bindings since the reward was published.

There about 100 better weapons for a hunter that will give much better ranged damage, and better overall DPS.
But let's be honest, most people who roll hunters are retarded social misfits, along with Paladins.
It's also crap for a sword rogue, the min/max damage is tiny compared to other one handers, and thus sinister strikes would be pretty awful.
Warrior sword basically, the proc is designed to get extra aggro from multiple mobs, the proc is just gonna get any other class killed.

Baboon troll hunter on Daggerspine has this weapon. I know because I duel'd him. it hurts and the proc is annoying, but at range it's nothing more than a pretty glowing ball on his back with gimp stats. very amusing though. I'm sure he pissed off a person or 2, but everyone loves Baboon. I can see his guild springing for it.
Im a hunter on now EU-Kazzak (migrated from EU-Daggerspine). The reason I got this was because no one knew what the bindings where used for so our 5 first bindings went to hunters sadly.
BWL wasnt there at that time so elementium wasnt in the game and therefor no one could have obtained it (ofc it was on thottbot like every other shit that may be fake).
100 arcanite bars isnt that much to grind anyway and I dont regret it one second that I took it over 3k gold, ofc I have a better mainhand than that for raiding. I only use it for fun now and for grinding ofc :)

Not to mention almost all guilds at those lvl's uses ML during raids so its the RL's call if they want to give this item to a hunter or not, and i doubt they give it to a hunter if someone else needs it more, even if they use DKP some classes always has prio, so basicly...

2: He gatheres all the mats himself and / or payed a fortune for em.
