it's not like he's actually going to use melee in any raids, so the fire res on that staff is a good thing, rather than just an item nobody wanted like the other pics.
As it's generally a terrible mage staff, it's good hunter fire resist gear. Seriously, being able to switch to +20 FR or IR midfight is awesome. Far better mage stavesare avalible to anyone who can get this. (they should make an elemental mage staff that decent, for the mages)
That staff is strange in a hunter weapon, yeah I know, but he is wearing a FULL fire resist set. I recognize most of the icons/designs he is wearing on.
The shoulders are Drakefire Epaulets (or however it's spelled), the fists are Molten Fists, and the belt is a +20 FR leather belt I got from Incendius I believe.

Neck: Drakefire Amulet (+15RF)
Back: (prob.) Onyxia Scale CLoak (+16RF)
Chest: Giantstalker (+10RF)
Bracers: Pyremail bracers of ??? (+10 RF)
Staff: Obvious :) (+20RF)
Gloves: Molten fists (+10RF)
Leggings: Black Dragonscale Leg. (+13RF)
Boots: Flame Walkers (+10RF)
Ring: Ocean's Breeze (+15RF)
And prolly more RF items I not recognized at first sight...
Only with this (without buffs/enchants): 129 Resist Fire... so this is an OBVIOUS fire resist equipment... otherwise is the loss of dps/sta/...
The guy also has Blazing trinket(15 FR) and the engineering 18 FR trinket.
This is his FR suit (although he could go better and get Father Flame (10 FR) from UBRS and use a 1H with stats.
I count 155 FR on his items.

You only get 30% of +spell damage for instant casts + all Hunter 'spells' being instant casts =
+spell damage usesless on Hunters.
The best part is, he enchanted with +9 damage so he can use it in in pinch when he has to melee as well. Smart thinking...
