to be honest that's one of the best 2h weapons in the game for hunters. it's not like you can do nefarian in a pickup group, so his guild must have already given it to all the warriors who wanted it or they felt it was fair game for either class. this shot definitely isn't deserving of ridicule, like some of the other ones here. :P
no this guild has only killed nef 2 maybe 3 times. i feel sorry for all their warriors. hunters, yes you use melee, yes you can do respectable damage with them, and yes you deserve good weapons but what happened here is just plain wrong....

actually when you inspect someone youre right.. it views the item as "bind on pickup" or "bind on equip". however, if you pay attention to the screenshot, the stats (str/agi/stm/spir..etc.) are viewable which ISNT viewable on an inspect screen. screenshots fake, next please.

To whoever said that this is a photoshop image, if you ever noticed, when you inspect someone... it tells what kind of bind it is. It only says "soulbound" when you inspect your own self.
These Picture may have been photoshoped but the weapon is good for a hunter as attack power is actually good for a hunter as it increases Ranged Attack Power aswell.
I think its a fake. Look at how the icon is not glowing when the icons in other pictures are glowing. The pointer is also still showing up in this picture and not in the others.
Yeah hold up this one is fishy, As a hunter if he was inspecting himself the sword or said equipment should say "soulbound" since it is bound to him.
However the weapon here oddly enough says "bind on pick up" even though it shows him with the item equipped and everything. I'd hate to say it but I do belive this weapon was photo shopped and should be taken down until confirmation can be given.

While I do agree that its an extremely nice weapon for hunters (having a hunter myself I know how they work) I would still probobly pass on it till I was sure that the people in my regular raid group had it...or if they all had their Thunderfuries.

Anyone who thinks Ashjre'thul Crossbow of Smiting belongs in the hands of a warrior needs to quit this game right now. A warrior recieves nothing from that crossbow. A hunter with Ashkandi however recieves a huge boost from that weapon. I'm not saying it should be given to a hunter over a warrior, but hunters should certainly not be excluded from recieving this weapon.

I have a 58 warrior and hunters with epic 2 handers (like Zin'rok) challange me to melee only duels. With my shitty ice barbed spear i still spank the bejesus out of them.

You know, Bliz doesn't have to make everything class specific. Supposedly people have some common fucking sense and realize who the weapon helps more. Yes, I will agree, a hunter can use this weapon, and it would do ok for them, but other classes can get much more from this weapon. You won't be downing this mob outside of your guild/alliances, so you should realize that a warrior with this weapon can help the entire guild/alliance, and not focus on "OMG, epix....I can equip it, so I will roll."

Warriors and paladins would use this for DPS, not for its stats. when was the last time you saw a hunter melee trying to do some serious dps? i have yet to see one. They are a ranged dps class, please leave the highest dps MELEE weapon to the MELEE classes. Beeing a hunter myself, I would clearly love to have this one. That beeing said: In my guild, melee classes get first go on melee weapons, hunters get first go on ranged weapons. And that's the way it should be imo.
But on the other hand ... tanks should use shields anyway, so they wouldn't use this in guild-raids, only solo and PvP. So it may seem that this item would help guild-raids more in the hands of a hunter who would actually use it in raids there =P

I can see a hunter rolling on this. If this is a raiding guild, then this would benefit a hunter better then a warrior ( tank ).
Now if they do PVP alot also, then this is geared towards the fury speced warrior and hands down go to him first ( even though the raptor strikes would rock )
Even if this would be fake - as some of you seem to think - there are other hunters with Ash'Kandi, this screenshot just found it's way to this site to tell hunters do have this weapon also.
Before the Polearm from AQ was out, Ashkandi was the best 2h weapon in the game for Hunters.
Fang of the Faceless (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51696) and Main Hand Warblade of the Hakkari (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51839) both with 15 agi enchants is the exact same rap bonus as Ashakandi with the 15agi enchant. So the difference is FotF+WotH give more crit, over 2% crit. Ashakandi gives 330 health and huge Raptor Strike crits.
So, they both have their uses, PvE DPS = FotF+WotH; while pulling and PvP = Ashkandi.
Ashkandi is a great weapon for Warriors and Hunters (only 2 classes can wield it on Horde side). I can't tell you how many times a mage blinked at me with ~35% health to frost nova me and died to a Raptor Strike crit.

I've got an ashkandi now, Shit is nice. We don't really have any 2h warriors in the guild, and the 2 ashkandis that dropped before went to paladins. Clearly this is much better in a hunters hands. I use it more than any class in the game and I'm proud to say its an excellent weapon. Just wait for +25 agility and It'll be about the best weapon a hunter can find, RAP wise. The only weapon that would possibly be better is Barb of the sand reaver and that is only becuas of the crit %. But who cares about a measily 1% crit chance? =)
As said before, only to remind you, this screenshot is a fake. 'Binds when picked up' only shows on 'Inspect' window, and this clearly isn't Inspect window since you can see Firuen's stats, dmg etc.
I'd let Warriors have this first, it's the same with any 2h sword really, warriors get priority.
As long as you guys leave the Hunters the Barb of the Sand Reaver (41+ agi, 0 str, some stamina, it's a polearm) i'll be happy ;)
However, if Ashkandi was going to be disenchanted, i'd take it rather than waste it, as this is godly for raptor crits in PvP, and gives a comparably amount of AP to some of the better dual wield combos.
if they didn't want that weapon to be useful to hunters, they'd remove the +attack power and just raise the natural DPS of the weapon. not all warriors will use two-handers on a raid, but for a hunter it doesn't matter. if you raid to get good gear for pvp, you'd all probably want this to go to a warrior. but if you're raiding to get better gear for raiding, its probably better off going to a hunter.
This and Zin'rokh are the only feasible hunter items on this page. I have 60 hunter, and all that other gear is crap. +arcane dmg? Improves 2 abilities, one I barely use, the other only when I am kiting. +fire? Whoo, 2 traps. Nice. +ice? WE DON'T DEAL ICE DAMAGE. +Healing? Who the hell do we heal? Our pets? The mana is better spent on your shots.
I pity the idiotic guilds that let their hunters get these items.
Believe it or not, a hunter on my server (alliance) has it, and he hit me in AB for like 1200+ raptor strike crit(I'm a hunter too), I was trying to take a screenshot, but was busy in guild chat laughing the our warriors getting pissed... if you don't believe me, create an alliance char on Uldum US server, ask who's the hunter who has this sword, and you'll get his name, too bad I didn't catch his name.
all I can say is.. it's a game, loot comes and goes, just let it go =)

If u didn't know yet, in expansion hunter's class will be trully rechanged. They will receive new class name, skills and talents. Class name will be changed to Ninja. New main melee and ranged skill will be "NukedaHantaZWipon", with 7 lvls of advancement. And yeah in talents they will have a new talent tree, called "Ninja skills" and 31 point talent there will be such : "As ninja as real huntaz" Gives a 50% chance of getting ANY epic item in game while in raid or group, also Gives a 75% chance of getting ANY rare item in game while in raid or group and gives 100% chance of getting ANY uncommon item while in raid or group.
....about talent - it seems this talent was already added...
This guy who FAKED (yes most of 'em are faked) probably had Warrior and Mage cause there's Cloth Dmg gear stated as "Soulbound" when he inspects, and some neat 1h weapons (fury warrior). Also, the inspect screen shows stats so its pretty obvious it was edited. I bet the guy who faked thease had a hunter as a father, who left to forrest and never came back and thats why he holds grudge againts hunters.

I'm playing on one of the older servers; Zenedar, 3 guilds have killed C'Thun there and many have been farming BWL for ages.
I believe on Zenedar we have like: 4+ hunters with Ashkandi simply because those guilds are old and have been farming BWL for a long time.
Heck, a paladin on Zenedar has Dark Edge of Insanity and some guilds have more than 5 Thunderfury's in it.
So before u make drama and scream that every hunter that has this weapon is a ninja or a noob, go back to your new RP server and make some fights about who should get the random hurricane drop.
the "hunter weapon" myth was and is perpetrated by greedy warriors who "need" 10 epics weapons in the bank.
the reason? a secret pact within the rogue and warrior communities seek to deny hunters of substantial epic melee ability, due to the fact we'd dominate pvp if given a fair go.
I'm also proud to say that the warriors hate me for it.
Finally, I'm proud to say that I now melee in Molten Core and on Nefarian. (Stage 2)
My reasoning behind getting it was that we don't do ZG enough for FoTF of Hakkari mainhand to drop in the near future. Doom's edge doesn't drop nearly enough and my CC rep is still neutral. I saw askhandi as a viable long term DPS upgrade over the lok I was using, so in light of the fact that I probably wouldn't stop using it until I got to 70, I took it.
A warrior could have taken it, but that would've furthered his replacement of a DPS spot in the guild, specifically a hunter spot. And frankly, if I can prevent my replacement and get an awesome sword in one fell swoop I will.
this is one of the best hunter weapons ingame, actually the 2nd best. The AQ40 polearm is now the best due to its imba agility, then Ashkandi and then zin'rohk.
There are so many other good warrior items in-game, but few decent melee weapons for hunters (read: melee weapons with imba stats)
Yeh this is pretty much the best 2h hunter weapon unless you can get your hands on a barb or the nax polearm. In TBC also, agi only gives 1 RAP but more crit chance, so the attack power may mean that the item is buffed in TBC =o.

l2play huntard in 2.0 (and even beforehand). AP effects both melee AP and RAP, and so that is perfectly reasonable for a Marksmanship hunter to take (being that they do not benefit as much from +agility as hunters Lightning Reflexes, apart from the crit/armor/etc. gained).
If no warrior needs, then it's free reign for palas/hunters imo!

This site has given me so many fucking reasons to hate hunters.
I have a 58 warrior and hunters with epic 2 handers (like Zin'rok) challange me to melee only duels. With my shitty ice barbed spear i still spank the bejesus out of them.
Why the fuck would u steal away a weapon like this from a warrior. Your hurting your fraction as a whole.

You know, Bliz doesn't have to make everything class specific. Supposedly people have some common fucking sense and realize who the weapon helps more. Yes, I will agree, a hunter can use this weapon, and it would do ok for them, but other classes can get much more from this weapon. You won't be downing this mob outside of your guild/alliances, so you should realize that a warrior with this weapon can help the entire guild/alliance, and not focus on "OMG, epix....I can equip it, so I will roll."

Warriors and paladins would use this for DPS, not for its stats. when was the last time you saw a hunter melee trying to do some serious dps? i have yet to see one. They are a ranged dps class, please leave the highest dps MELEE weapon to the MELEE classes. There are much better weapons and offhands for a hunter besides AP and stamina. come on you guys are huge hipocrits for telling people to know their class.

hunters are useless for parties.. I myself prefer an extra mage or another warlock... hell a warrior outdamages a mage if he puts his back into it!

Hunters consistently post in the top five for DPS in MC in my guild.
(Granted, it's the two best-equipped hunters in the guild versus the best rogues / mages, with possible a lock in there as well)

That beeing said: In my guild, melee classes get first go on melee weapons, hunters get first go on ranged weapons. And that's the way it should be imo.
But on the other hand ... tanks should use shields anyway, so they wouldn't use this in guild-raids, only solo and PvP. So it may seem that this item would help guild-raids more in the hands of a hunter who would actually use it in raids there =P

Even if this would be fake - as some of you seem to think - there are other hunters with Ash'Kandi, this screenshot just found it's way to this site to tell hunters do have this weapon also.
Before the Polearm from AQ was out, Ashkandi was the best 2h weapon in the game for Hunters.
Fang of the Faceless (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51696) and Main Hand Warblade of the Hakkari (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51839) both with 15 agi enchants is the exact same rap bonus as Ashakandi with the 15agi enchant. So the difference is FotF+WotH give more crit, over 2% crit. Ashakandi gives 330 health and huge Raptor Strike crits.
So, they both have their uses, PvE DPS = FotF+WotH; while pulling and PvP = Ashkandi.
Ashkandi is a great weapon for Warriors and Hunters (only 2 classes can wield it on Horde side). I can't tell you how many times a mage blinked at me with ~35% health to frost nova me and died to a Raptor Strike crit.

I've got an ashkandi now, Shit is nice. We don't really have any 2h warriors in the guild, and the 2 ashkandis that dropped before went to paladins. Clearly this is much better in a hunters hands. I use it more than any class in the game and I'm proud to say its an excellent weapon. Just wait for +25 agility and It'll be about the best weapon a hunter can find, RAP wise. The only weapon that would possibly be better is Barb of the sand reaver and that is only becuas of the crit %. But who cares about a measily 1% crit chance? =)
As said before, only to remind you, this screenshot is a fake. 'Binds when picked up' only shows on 'Inspect' window, and this clearly isn't Inspect window since you can see Firuen's stats, dmg etc.

Ashkandi 86 atk pwr + 50 atk pwr from the 25 agi enchant = 136 atk pwr total
Doom's edge 16 agi + Dragonfang Blade 16 agi + 2 15 agi enchants = 124 atk pwr total
Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds 72 atk pwr + 25 agi enchant = 122 atk pwr total
Lok'delar 0 atk pwrr, 0 agi + 25 agi enchant = 50 atk pwr total
I'd let Warriors have this first, it's the same with any 2h sword really, warriors get priority.
As long as you guys leave the Hunters the Barb of the Sand Reaver (41+ agi, 0 str, some stamina, it's a polearm) i'll be happy ;)
However, if Ashkandi was going to be disenchanted, i'd take it rather than waste it, as this is godly for raptor crits in PvP, and gives a comparably amount of AP to some of the better dual wield combos.
if they didn't want that weapon to be useful to hunters, they'd remove the +attack power and just raise the natural DPS of the weapon. not all warriors will use two-handers on a raid, but for a hunter it doesn't matter. if you raid to get good gear for pvp, you'd all probably want this to go to a warrior. but if you're raiding to get better gear for raiding, its probably better off going to a hunter.
This and Zin'rokh are the only feasible hunter items on this page. I have 60 hunter, and all that other gear is crap. +arcane dmg? Improves 2 abilities, one I barely use, the other only when I am kiting. +fire? Whoo, 2 traps. Nice. +ice? WE DON'T DEAL ICE DAMAGE. +Healing? Who the hell do we heal? Our pets? The mana is better spent on your shots.
I pity the idiotic guilds that let their hunters get these items.

Believe it or not, a hunter on my server (alliance) has it, and he hit me in AB for like 1200+ raptor strike crit(I'm a hunter too), I was trying to take a screenshot, but was busy in guild chat laughing the our warriors getting pissed...
if you don't believe me, create an alliance char on Uldum US server, ask who's the hunter who has this sword, and you'll get his name, too bad I didn't catch his name.
all I can say is.. it's a game, loot comes and goes, just let it go =)

If u didn't know yet, in expansion hunter's class will be trully rechanged. They will receive new class name, skills and talents.
Class name will be changed to Ninja.
New main melee and ranged skill will be "NukedaHantaZWipon", with 7 lvls of advancement.
And yeah in talents they will have a new talent tree, called "Ninja skills" and 31 point talent there will be such :
"As ninja as real huntaz"

This guy who FAKED (yes most of 'em are faked) probably had Warrior and Mage cause there's Cloth Dmg gear stated as "Soulbound" when he inspects, and some neat 1h weapons (fury warrior). Also, the inspect screen shows stats so its pretty obvious it was edited. I bet the guy who faked thease had a hunter as a father, who left to forrest and never came back and thats why he holds grudge againts hunters.
These SC arent faked, he uses a mod to see his alt's gear.

I'm playing on one of the older servers; Zenedar, 3 guilds have killed C'Thun there and many have been farming BWL for ages.
I believe on Zenedar we have like: 4+ hunters with Ashkandi simply because those guilds are old and have been farming BWL for a long time.
Heck, a paladin on Zenedar has Dark Edge of Insanity and some guilds have more than 5 Thunderfury's in it.
So before u make drama and scream that every hunter that has this weapon is a ninja or a noob, go back to your new RP server and make some fights about who should get the random hurricane drop.

the "hunter weapon" myth was and is perpetrated by greedy warriors who "need" 10 epics weapons in the bank.
the reason? a secret pact within the rogue and warrior communities seek to deny hunters of substantial epic melee ability, due to the fact we'd dominate pvp if given a fair go.

I'm proud to say that I have this on my hunter.
I'm also proud to say that the warriors hate me for it.
Finally, I'm proud to say that I now melee in Molten Core and on Nefarian. (Stage 2)
My reasoning behind getting it was that we don't do ZG enough for FoTF of Hakkari mainhand to drop in the near future. Doom's edge doesn't drop nearly enough and my CC rep is still neutral. I saw askhandi as a viable long term DPS upgrade over the lok I was using, so in light of the fact that I probably wouldn't stop using it until I got to 70, I took it.
A warrior could have taken it, but that would've furthered his replacement of a DPS spot in the guild, specifically a hunter spot. And frankly, if I can prevent my replacement and get an awesome sword in one fell swoop I will.
There is a hunter called Jointwing on Doomhammer server EU with Ashkandi.
So there is no need to fake it there are moronic hunters and guilds who let them have it.
this is one of the best hunter weapons ingame, actually the 2nd best. The AQ40 polearm is now the best due to its imba agility, then Ashkandi and then zin'rohk.
There are so many other good warrior items in-game, but few decent melee weapons for hunters (read: melee weapons with imba stats)
Yeh this is pretty much the best 2h hunter weapon unless you can get your hands on a barb or the nax polearm. In TBC also, agi only gives 1 RAP but more crit chance, so the attack power may mean that the item is buffed in TBC =o.

l2play huntard in 2.0 (and even beforehand). AP effects both melee AP and RAP, and so that is perfectly reasonable for a Marksmanship hunter to take (being that they do not benefit as much from +agility as hunters Lightning Reflexes, apart from the crit/armor/etc. gained).
If no warrior needs, then it's free reign for palas/hunters imo!
Oh, and there's a point. In that Ashkandi picture, you can see his stats, tabs etc. but then it says "Binds when picked up" on the weapon?
That, my friends, screams fake.
3 Hunters have this on my server, it's no big really, and I saw a hunter with a thunderfury on the PTR.

2-h weapons are pvp toys for warriors.
As a priest, I can say that dps warriors are a PITA in raids. I'd take a hunter over a dps warrior in a heartbeat.
Once you get the ability to dump aggo so you're not a healing liability, you can roll on this sword. Until then, HUNTER WEAPON.

A smart hunter wouldn't waste time on a Blastershot or Striker's Mark. IMO those are stat weapons for melees.
Nice one! Happened in my old guild too!! A MS warrior was outbid by a hunter who won that, after some fierce flaming both hunter and warrior left the guild!!
Uh the only 3 classes that can use that weapon, the weapon is actually useful for, Hunters, paladins and warriors.
